Episode 0010 The Drug Game

This weeks podcast was an intense one. Seeing the person I interviewed go from being a baby in 92' to being a 19yr old drug dealing slinging coke & getting bullet holes tattooed on him was intense. My hope is that he gets out of the game before prison or death takes him.

Former US Drug Czar Calls Marijuana Users "Stupid and Lazy". I'd like to introduce him to Richard Branson

In a Huffington Post article describing the public opinion of the United States regarding cannabis legalization, a quote from Robert DuPont (the drug czar under President's Nixon & Ford) got me thinking about how ridiculous the propaganda is & how badly it's myths need pointed out.

Mr. DuPont was quoted as saying,"It is a major drug of abuse," he said. "People ask me what the most dangerous drug is, and I say marijuana. Other drugs have serious consequences that are easy to recognize. Marijuana saps people's motivation, their direction. It's a drug that makes people stupid and lazy. That's in a way more dangerous."

Now if you've ever used cannabis, or known people who use yes there are many who do indeed become, "stupid and lazy", but perhaps they were already that way. Listening to the Joe Rogan experience podcast has shown that the myth of the "lazy and stupid" pothead is ridiculous. Joe Rogan is one example of a cannabis user who excels as a human, while admitting to frequently using marijuana.

With the dawn of instant information thanks to the internet. We have come to discover the lies of the propaganda those people use to justify marijuana prohibition has a long and historically racist beginning. As well as flat out lies from groups who make a lot of money from marijuana staying illegal, have no rational or logical argument in 2012.

Today we see a lot of very successful cannabis users whose critics would be laughed at if they accused these people of being "stupid and lazy". People like Mr. DuPont are free to use alcohol like any American adult as they see fit. Why would you not allow your fellow American adults to then use cannabis as well? The lies and propaganda simply do not hold up under further review.
Marijuana is by far the safest psychoactive drug known to man. It helps human beings in ways safer than the many of our narcotic choices.

So when someone like Mr. DuPont points out that pot users are lazy and stupid. Point to Mr.
Richard Branson one of the most successful business men on the face of the planet.

My oldest son has left elementary school.

There's something amazing watching your children grow into adults & this week was the last week my son attended elementary school. Soon to be a teenager, I will become someone who is there to protect but not restrain my young man from plunging into this tough thing we call life. I can only hope I have led by example as my first born becomes more responsible, more opinionated & more awesome. I love you Christian. You are an amazing human being with a great heart. Love, your Dad.
